Medicines & illness

The school needs to know if your child has any health issues or allergies. Please ensure that you inform the school on admission of any issues or at any other point as necessary.

If your child is ill (temperature, sickness, diarrhoea etc) please do not send them into school. There should be 48 hours recovery time after any bout of sickness or diarrhoea. Although attendance is important your child’s health and well-being is more important to us. Our ‘duty of care’ is to all the staff as well as your children. Bugs spread very easily, so please help us fight them! Good hygiene also goes a long way to prevent illness so please remind your children to regularly wash their hands with soap and warm water. It is the only way to kill germs and prevent the spread of nasty viruses.

If your child is ill then the best place for them is at home. However your child may be well enough to attend school but need to take medicine which can be arranged through the school office where you will be asked to complete a medicine form.
