School Keep Clear Campaign

School Keep Clear Campaign

Keep your school entrance safe

Each weekday, motorists are putting the lives of young children and their parents at risk, especially during school run times. To highlight the dangers that parents and guardians are creating outside schools by parking illegally, our Marlborough Junior Travel Ambassadors have been giving out leaflets to ask the drivers to keep clear of the markings outside the school.  This is part of the “School Keep Clear Campaign” which is designed to inform parents and other drivers about why it’s important these markings are left clear. If you travel by car please ‘Park and Stride’ and keep clear of the yellow zig zags, it keeps everyone healthier happier and safer!

  • Cars must not park or drop off in the area where there are  ‘Keep Clear’ markings.
  • Let your children out of the car onto the pavement rather than into the road.
  • When crossing from Wiltshire Close please cross opposite the school gates and avoid walking between parked cars.
  • If you have to drive down Denyer Street please do so very slowly.
  • Please be vigilant with your children keep them with you on the pavement and hold their hand when crossing the road.
  • Teach your children how to cross the road safely looking both left and right, then left and right again and listening for traffic.
