In our maths lessons we have been learning about sharing. We read the story ‘The Doorbell Rang’ by Pat Hutchins. In the story, a group of children have to share their biscuits with more and more children! We then had a go at doing this ourselves. We used real biscuits and shared them with our friends. We used the words ‘halving’ and ‘quartering’ when sharing with groups of 2 or 4. Then we had to solve a problem, what do we do when there is one biscuit left over? We realised that we could break it into halves or quarters so it is still fair. When we had finished we got to eat our biscuits! Everyone did a super job of sharing with their friends.
