On Monday 1st December, Year 6 went to Knightsbridge School to watch a Geography Game Show presented by Neal Nichols and to compete in their first ever Humanities Quiz. The Geography Game Show was a talk by artist and world traveller Neal Nichols who has memorised the maps of the world and facts about all of the places along the way. During the show, he drew a complete map of the world from memory, including drawing the entire continent of Africa in just 15 seconds! As he did this, he shared facts with Year 6 and the other schools who were there, and challenged them to remember as many facts as they could. We learned a lot about Geography and different places around the world, as well as some helpful memory techniques. In the first ever Knightsbridge Humanities Quiz, Marlborough Primary School was represented by Year 6. We got off to an amazing start, winning all of our initial rounds and getting through to the final. In the final, we competed against Knightsbridge School themselves and they were simply too quick for us and unfortunately we lost. However, we had a great time competing and it was good to meet up with children from other schools to celebrate our knowledge of Geography, History and R.E.
